With the red carpet rolled out, a cocktail on arrival and the DJ pumping out those party classics, the International Relations Ball was a party to be remembered. After months of planning, the big night came around on Friday August 21st, with guests arriving in style for the black tie event at The Loft. Despite being hosted by the QUT United Nations Student Association along with their counterparts at UQ, political discussion was left at the door for a night of fun and friendship.
QUTUNSA Events Coordinator Daniel Mclindon, was one of the key organisers of the ball and was thrilled to see the months of planning come to life on the night.
“It was a lot of hard work over a long period of time and a lot of stress to make sure that everything fell in place, but I think overall it all came together nicely and everyone had a good time,” he said.
The Ball marked one of a number of events that the QUTUNSA has held this semester. The society, which was re-established last year after a period of inactivity, kicked off the semester with a bowling night and a trivia night and are hosting a movie night for members, later in the semester.
